This week’s LBM Instagram Feedback Friday campaign brings us to our first cover song- the Weeknd’s ‘Rolling Stone’ as interpreted by Stan Carrizosa. LBM prefers to showcase original work. At times though, such as in the case of Stan Carrizosa, the raw talent displayed brings along its own unique feeling and life to another artist’s original work.
“Stan Carrizosa is a 24-year old singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. In 2008, he won the ABC reality TV competition show, High School Musical: Get In The Picture and recorded a song for the High School Musical 3 Soundtrack called “Just Getting Started.” He also has an original song called “Get You Off” that was recorded through Capital Records for the Pitch Perfect Soundtrack in 2012. He has been featured on World Star Hip Hop twice as Male Singing Cover of the Week for his renditions of The Weeknd’s, “Rolling Stone” and Frank Ocean’s, “We All Try.” Most recently, Stan collaborated with Hip-Hop artist, MC Lyte, in 2014 to write and record an original track through LoudBox Productions called “Cravin.” They performed the song on the Arsenio Hall Show together, and he landed an interview about the project on DJ Carisma’s Cookie Jar for Power 106 FM. Currently, Stan is attending the California College of Music in Pasadena on a full-ride Vocal Performance scholarship and recording his first EP for release this Fall.” - StanCarrizosa.com
