Taste Of Chaos 2016 - The Recap
Saturday July 16th, was the re-birth to a generation. Taste of Chaos and Rockstar Energy drink delivered on what was an evet to remember. From the location, the staff, and the line-up, it was nothing short of a great time. With headlining acts such as Dashboard Confessional and Taking Back Sunday such an experience should have been expected. The Taste of Chaos brand however, didn’t stop there and gave us amazing performers such as Quicksand, The Get Up Kids, The Starting Line, Saosin (with Anthony Green), Senses Fail, and the Early November to name a few.
From the very start of the Taste of Chaos music festival, it seemed there was a standard and a precedent. Cory Wells, a California local, opened the show. Being the winner of Slide Bar’s Battle of the Bands, he made it clear why HE had been chosen even as a mere solo act. Followed by him were veterans of the scene Reggie and The Full Effect which reminded us both why they were so great, and how they have influenced the music scene to this day. Other classic acts followed such as Hot Rod Circuit which further made the audience realized why we had all come to experience such an amazing spectacle. The Early November took the generation to a place of nostalgia and comfort with their performance and such grace as they thanked the crowd for their participation and the driving force for their success.
The Taste of Chaos festival gave us ample space and time to enjoy the event. Senses Fail had no dull moments playing the tracks that made us head-bob and move to the tune of our high school playlist. Saosin, being one of the standouts, came out with raging force and adrenaline and reminded us just how important the return of Mr. Anthony Green is and was to the band. The Audience both reminisced and marveled as they played both tracks of years before, and songs from their latest record, Along the Shadow.
Taking Back Sunday and Dashboard Confessional, being the headliners that they were, did not disappoint. Taking Back Sunday stormed the stage with renewed energy sporting their full “Tell All Your Friends” cast and showed us all why they have survived through so many years. From opening to track such as Cute Without the E, and closing with a musical gem such as MakeDamnSure, the audience never had a chance to look away. Dashboard Confessional closed the night reminded why virtually every single opening and supporting act had given them so much praise. Dashboard Confessional and Mr. Chris Carraba displayed their natural ease of musicianship and poise as they closed the night with a lullaby of audience voices as well as their own.
The event left the audience not only pleased but at the same time looking ahead to what Taste of Chaos will bring for years to come. LiveByMusic enjoyed the time spent and invested in the event, and we all look forward to what is yet to come…
